Graphene oxide monolayers as supporting films for high resolution transmission electron microscopy

► A novel kind of TEM support was fabricated with graphene oxide (GO) monolayers. ► Such GO support was prepared by a facile solution-cast method. ► It induced less disturbance to object imaging compared to conventional carbon films.
