Facile fabrication of superhydrophobic surface with micro/nanoscale binary structures on aluminum substrate

► Simple method to produce a zinc-aluminum layered double hydroxide (ZnAl-LDH) film. ► Complex micro/nanoscale binary structures similar to that of lotus leaf. ► After a simple modification, the wettability of as-prepared film changed from superhydrophilic to superhydrophobic.
