Facile fabrication of non-sticking superhydrophobic boehmite film on Al foil

► A boehmite film was fabricated on Al foil via a facile solution-phase method. ► The film possesses dual scale roughness (nanoplatelets on the microprotrusions). ► The surface exhibits robust superhydrophobic and non-sticking behaviors. ► The surface shows an excellent anticorrosion in electrolyte solution.
