Fabrication of free-standing copper foils covered with highly-ordered copper nanowire arrays

► Through-hole AAO membranes are fabricated by anodizing of Al in acidic electrolytes. ► AAO templates are employed for fabrication of free-standing cooper foils covered with highly-ordered Cu nanowire arrays. ► As prepared nanostructured electrodes are mechanically stable and easy to handle.
