The photoluminescence properties of undoped & Eu-doped ZnO thin films grown by RF sputtering on sapphire and silicon substrates

- The effect of substrate on the PL intensity of ZnO & Eu:ZnO thin films was investigated.
- For UV emission of ZnO thin film, silicon is a promising, cost-effective substrate.
- For red emission of Eu:ZnO thin film, sapphire substrate is more favorable.
