On the dissolution/reaction of small-grain Bioglass® 45S5 and F-modified bioactive glasses in artificial saliva (AS)

▶ The reactivity in AS of F-containing bioactive glasses was fully investigated. ▶ The formation, in AS, of crystalline CaCO3 is peculiar of F-modified glasses. ▶ The formation in AS of a CaP phase on F-containing glass surface is reduced. ▶ The pH increase is higher for HCaCaF2 than for HNaCaF2 glass.
