The effect of pillar surface fraction and pillar height on contact angles using molecular dynamics

- At low pillar heights larger pillar surface fractions are more hydrophobic.
- Mostly as the pillar surface fraction increased the Cassie contact angle decreased.
- Results diverged from the Cassie predictions at a surface fraction about 36%.
- The graphite surface gave more hydrophobic results than the Wenzel prediction.
