Solvent-free covalent functionalization of nanodiamond with amines

► Nanodiamond was covalently functionalized by reacting its carboxylic groups with amines. ► The amide functionalization was done at elevated temperature and without organic solvents. ► Functionalized nanodiamonds were characterized by a number of instrumental techniques.
