Photocatalytic reactions of nanocomposite of ZnS nanoparticles and montmorillonite

► ZnS nanoparticles were precipitated by the reaction of zinc acetate and sodium sulphide in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide. ► The stabilized ZnS nanoparticles were deposited on montmorillonite (MMT). ► The ZnS-CTA-MMT nanocomposite was used for the photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide forming mainly hydrogen and methane.
