Adsorption of meso-tetraphenylporphines on thin films of C60 fullerene

► Molecular mechanics predicts the formation of ordered arrays of porphyrins on C60 films. ► The array formation was confirmed by scanning tunneling microscopy on HOPG supports. ► Experimentally obtained periodicity matches well the theoretically predicted value of 1.8 nm.
