Surface structure and biocompatibility of demineralized dentin matrix granules soaked in a simulated body fluid

► Demineralized dentin matrix (DDM) is prepared by a pulverizing-dissolution method. ► Human tooth is rapidly pulverized with saline ice and dissolved in acidic solutions. ► DDM granules are soaked in a simulated body fluid to precipitate apatite crystals. ► Microstructure of precipitates depends on the demineralization situation of granules. ► In in-vivo, bio-absorption is recognized around the surface layers of DDM granules.
