Surface sprouting growth of Na2Nb2O6·H2O nanowires and fabrication of NaNbO3 nanostructures with controlled morphologies

► Na2Nb2O6·H2O nanowires were synthesized via the surface sprouting growth mechanism. ► Temperature play great roles in the morphology of the nanostructured materials. ► Na2Nb2O6·H2O nanowires can be easily converted into NaNbO3 nanowires by calcination.
