Synthesis and characterization of natural zeolite supported Cr-doped TiO2 photocatalysts

► Natural zeolite supported Cr-doped TiO2 photocatalysts were synthesized. ► Cr dopant was presented as Cr3+ and Cr6+ species in the samples. ► The band gap energy of the sample significantly reduced after Cr-doping. ► Photocatalytic activity of the samples could be enhanced as Cr ions were doped. ► The 10%Cr/TiO2/zeolite calcined at 400 °C exhibited higher photocatalytic activity.
