Simulations of structures of amorphous SixC1−x films

► Molecular dynamics is used to predict structures of SixC1−x films. ► The sp3/sp2 ratio of the films increases with an increase in silicon contents. ► But the stiffness of the films decreases with increasing silicon contents. ► Moreover, silicon atoms are almost surrounded by carbon atoms.
