Microstructure and wear properties of Fe-15Cr-2.5Ti-2C-xBÂ wt.% hardfacing alloys

► We fabricate Fe-15Cr-2.5Ti-2C wt.% self-shielded metal cored hardfacing alloys with different boron additions. ► As the boron content exceeds 0.99 wt.%, the hardfacing alloy possesses excellent wear resistance. ► With the addition of boron, the average carbide diameter and the carbide volume fraction both increase.
