Site-controlled synthesis and mechanism of three-dimensional Mo2S3 flowers

► Three-dimensional Mo2S3 flowers with steady morphology were synthesized by CVD method. ► Without Au particles, only high S concentration led to dense nanopetals. ► With Au particles, dense nanostructures were obtained at various S concentration. ► Three-dimensional Mo2S3 flowers grew at optimal S concentration with Au particles.
