High-capacity hydrogen storage of magnesium-decorated boron fullerene

► We performed the Mg adsorbed B80 is a kind of ultrahigh-capacity hydrogen storage medium. ► We found the 12Mg-decorated-B80 has a high hydrogen storage capacity to store up to 96 H2 molecules. ► These findings imply a possible method of engineering structure for hydrogen storage materials.
