Sano-Tachiya-Noolandi-Hong versus Onsager modelling of charge photogeneration in organic solids

► The electric field dependence of charge photogeneration efficiency is computed. ► Sano-Tachiya-Noolandi-Hong theory is compared with Onsager theory. ► Charge photogeneration efficiency increases for broader e-h pair distributions. ► Charge photogeneration efficiency increases for slower final recombination. ► The final recombination velocity in films of Alq3 and Ir(ppy)3 is evaluated.
