Dipolar disorder formalism revisited

► Dipolar disorder formalism of Borsenberger and Bässler is modified. ► Polymer binder and a dopant are ascribed particular values of two kinds of disorder. ► These combine to give total disorder energy in a molecularly doped polymer (MDP). ► Inconsistencies of the old DDF for polar dopants are removed. ► We checked this approach against a dozen of MDPs with only one exception.
