A new fluorescent probe with stimulated emission and multiphoton absorption properties

► Carbon analogue of methyl ester of methyl red has been synthesized for the first time. ► The new molecule (trans-MDMASB) shows large dipole moment difference of ∼20 D upon excitation. ► It shows ns time-dependent red shift in emission wavelength in DMSO solvent. ► The molecules exihibits stimulated emission and strong multiphoton induced emission.
