On the geometrical structure and spectral properties of pyrene monomer and sterically constrained intramolecular pyrene dimers

The uniform delocalization of the frontier orbitals over the both pyrene moieties contributing to the lowest energy transitions supports the effective excimer formation. The DPyM shows higher ground state complexation then DPyS.
