On direct product based discrete variable representations for angular coordinates and the treatment of singular terms in the kinetic energy operator

The convergence of the new cot-DVR approach is demonstrated in a plot displaying the error of the computed lowest energy eigenvalue of a Hamiltonian including a m2/sin2 θ- singularity as a function of the number of DVR points employed.
