A role for molecular compression in the post-translational formation of the Green Fluorescent Protein chromophore

Using molecular dynamics simulations, we estimate the contribution of the Green Fluorescent Protein beta-barrel in promoting backbone cyclization, i.e. a crucial step in chromophore formation.
