- Population of the I2(δ2u) state from the valence 0g+(bb) state has been observed.
- The D0u+ and δ2u ion-pair states of I2 are mixed due to heterogeneous perturbation.
- The mixing of D0u+ and δ2u states is provided mainly due to the γ1u ion-pair state.
