Strong blue absorption of green Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ phosphor by doping heavy Mn2+ concentrations

- Heavily-doped Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ phosphors with a strong PL under 422 nm excitation.
- The relaxation of the selection rule on the forbidden intra-transition caused by the increment of Mn-O orbital intermixing.
- The solid solubility limit of Mn2+ in Zn2SiO4 host was measured as 9 mol%.
