Infrared laser Stark spectroscopy of hydroxymethoxycarbene in 4He nanodroplets

- Hydroxymethoxycarbene was produced by thermal decomposition of monomethyl oxalate.
- The trans,trans and cis,trans conformers were characterized in 4He nanodroplets.
- Rotational constants and permanent electric dipole moments were obtained.
- Computed barrier heights suggest unlikely interconversion between species.
