Reaction kinetics of the CN radical with primary alcohols

- Kinetics of reactions of CN radicals with small primary alcohols was measured experimentally.
- Very little temperature dependence or kinetic isotope effect was observed.
- Primary mechanisms is alkyl hydrogen abstraction.
- Only small contribution from hydroxyl hydrogen abstraction was observed.
