Similarity analysis of protein sequences based on 2D and 3D amino acid adjacency matrices

- A 3D amino acid adjacency matrix is presented.
- A novel numerical method is proposed to measure the degree of similarity.
- This method is applied to ND5 proteins of nine different species.
- A correlation with ClustalW analysis is provided to prove the efficiency.
- The results show that our work is the most significant among other related works.
