Intermolecular interactions in binary system of 1-methylimidazole with methanol: A volumetric and theoretical investigation

- Densities of N-methylimidazole with methanol binary system were measured.
- Excess molar volumes were fitted to Redlich-Kister polynomial equation.
- Excess molar volumes are negative in the whole mole fraction range.
- Nature of hydrogen bonds in the binary system was confirmed by DFT and AIM.
