In situ spectroscopic observations of pressure-induced condensation of trimethylsilanol and behavior of dehydrated molecular water

- Trimethylsilanol solidified at 0.3 GPa and room temperature.
- The OH vibration mode shifted to lower frequencies with increasing pressure.
- Hexamethyldisiloxane and molecular water were formed by pressure-induced condensation.
- A marked frequency shift was observed in OH stretching vibration of released water.
