Modeling of peptide-silica interaction based on four-body corrected fragment molecular orbital (FMO4) calculations

► The FMO4-MP2 method was applied to the RKLPDA peptide - Si257O618H208 complex. ► The inter-fragment interaction energies were analyzed in detail. ► It was found that R, K and D play a key role in interacting with the silica surface.
