Thermal decomposition of 1-pentyl radicals at high pressures and temperatures

► Isomerization and decomposition of 1-pentyl radical has been studied in argon near 1000 K. ► Product ratios are determined over a 60-fold pressure range (90-5200 kPa). ► Our RRKM master equation analysis leads to 〈ΔEdown〉 = (675 ± 100) cm−1 at 1000 K. ► We provide kinetic modeling parameters covering (700-1900) K and (10-100 000 kPa).
