Photophysics of hydrogen bonded diarylethene dimers in the liquid phase

► A coupled photochromic dimer is produced from the monomer at elevated concentrations. ► We compare the photophysics of dimer and monomer. ► Through bond electronic coupling leads to a bathochromic shift. ► The photoreactivity is fully maintained in the dimer configuration.
