The effect of intermolecular interactions on the electric dipole polarizabilities of nucleic acid base complexes

► Interaction-induced polarizabilities of nucleic acid base complexes are analyzed. ► Very large set of nucleic acid base complexes (over 100 structures) has been considered. ► Interaction-induced properties are decomposed into physically meaningful components. ► The performance of new basis set is assessed in computations of polarizabilities.
