Quenching of magnetism in hexagonal graphene nanoflakes by non-local electron correlation

► We invalidate the view that hexagonal graphene nanoflakes are anti-ferromagnetic. ► Non-local correlation is found to quench anti-ferromagnetism in these systems. ► We study the scaling in size of the spin contamination arising from symmetry breakings.
