Two-photon excitations of the Cs233Σg+ state: Assignment and analysis with the deformed ab initio potential

► Two-photon transitions into the 33Σg+ state of Cs2 have been assigned. ► New 'deformed ab initio potential' has been proposed for the 33Σg+ state. ► Observed spectra of resolved fluorescence have been simulated with the new potential.
