Influence of ionization states of antigen on anti-fluorescein antibodies

► PMFs for anti-fluorescein antibodies showed funnel-like landscape. ► The wild-type was found to bind to fluorescein in the anion state strongly. ► The mutant was found to bind to fluorescein in the di-anion state strongly. ► Mutation from ASP to HIS was important for the ionization states.
