Ultrafast electron crystallography of monolayer adsorbates on clean surfaces: Structural dynamics

► In situ prepared monolayer adsorbates are identified and characterized by mapping the electron diffraction patterns. ► Simultaneously resolving the ultrafast temperature changes of both the monolayer adsorbate and the substrate. ► Structural dynamics are quantified by the comparison with multi-scattering simulations.
