Investigation of thick cobalt films electrodeposited on gold substrates

► Thick cobalt films electrodeposited on gold substrates were investigated. ► The deposits became more and more inhomogeneous with increasing deposit thickness. ► The deposits consisted of nanocrystalline grains of the order of 100 nm in size. ► The maze domains had perpendicular magnetization and sizes of the order of 500 nm. ► The average domain size slightly increased with decreasing average grain size.
