Efficient charge transfer process in Coumarin 153-nanotubolar TiO2 hybrid system

► Hybrid electrode based on Coumarin 153 adsorbed on nanotubular TiO2 is presented. ► The optical properties of the single components are compared with the hybrid system. ► The photocurrent response is sensibly increased with respect to pure TiO2. ► The mechanism of the fast injection of photoexcited electrons was studied. ► A strong coupling between the Coumarin 153 and TiO2 nanostructure is proposed.
