Vibronic spectra of single dibenzoterrylene molecules in anthracene and 2,3-dimethylanthracene crystals

► Single DBT molecules were studied in anthracene and 2,3-dimethylanthracene crystals. ► Vibronic spectra of single molecules depend on the local nano-environment. ► Dipolar disorder in the crystal leads to broad distribution of the (0, 0) frequencies. ► Calculated spectra of the free DBT isomers were compared with experimental results. ► DBT molecules can be considered as good probes of the shape of occupied cavity.
