Transient absorption study on the influence of several polyphenylene vinylene derivatives on the exciton lifetimes in lead(II) sulfide quantum dots

► We study transient absorption spectra of PPV derivatives covered PbS nanocrystals. ► Optical properties of PbS depend on the distance from the polymer to the nanocrystal. ► Exciton lifetime is inversely proportional to the distance between polymer and PbS. ► The efficiency of multiple excitons generation depends on the capping agent.
