Electronic transmutation: Boron acquiring an extra electron becomes 'carbon'

► We propose a concept of electronic transmutation. ► This concept may have a significant effect on predicting new chemical compounds. ► Another outcome of this concept will be the simplification of teaching chemistry. ► We conducted an unbiased search for global minimum structures of Li2B2H6. ► The Li2B2H6 molecule is isostructural to the C2H6 ethane molecule.
