Complete assignment of spin sublevels in the lowest excited triplet state of corrole compounds by time-resolved EPR spectroscopy

► Triplet spin sublevels of free base and Rh corroles were assigned by time-resolved EPR. ► The mistaken assignment was revised by use of quantum chemical calculations. ► Nonplanarity of molecules does not change a sign of D. ► Importance of spin orbit coupling was indicated in Rh corrole.
