Distinct exciton migration pathways induced by steric hindrance in Langmuir-Blodgett films of two novel cruciform molecular wires

► Two cruciform oligo(phenylenethynylene) (OPE) molecular wires were synthesized. ► The two molecules were made into ordered molecular assembly using LB technique. ► Distinct exciton migration pathways were found in LB films of the two molecules.
