Topological ring-current assessment of the 'annulene-within-an-annulene' model in [N]-circulenes and some structures related to kekulene

► 'Topological' ring-currents confirm that [N]-circulenes violate the 'AWA' model. ► These considerations are extended to three structures formally related to kekulene. ► One, anti-kekulene, has paramagnetic currents flowing around in its [4n]-periphery. ► Anti-kekulene's [4n] central-ring bears both paramagnetic and diamagnetic currents. ► Anti-kekulene thus does not conform to the provisions of the 'AWA' model.
