Product branching fractions for the reaction of O(3P) atoms with methanol and ethanol

► O atom kinetics and branching ratio with methanol has been measured at 775 K. ► Abstraction at the methyl group dominates in reaction of O with methanol. ► O atom branching with ethanol is dominated by abstraction at α position (∼75%). ► Abstraction from the β and OH sites in ethanol each contribute ∼12%. ► First direct measurements of such O atom branching ratios.
