► Unsaturated hydrofluorocarbons are released into the atmosphere by anthropogenic abilities. ► They are expected to have adequate atmospheric lifetime due to their reactivity with the OH radical. ► The adequate atmospheric lifetime is desirable for unsaturated HFCs compared to the saturated HFCs. ► The impact of unsaturated HFCs on the environment is the topic of current scientific interest.
