Charge carrier kinetics in ZnO films and nanorods

► Sensitization of ZnO films increases the decay rate of photogenerated charge carriers. ► The adsorption of dye molecules on ZnO nanorods does not increase the decay rate. ► The decay is mainly due to recombination by a multiexponential process.
