On the blue-shifting hydrogen bond in tribromoacetaldehyde dimers

► ν(C-H) band in bromal dimers is blue shifted by 15 cm−1 vs. its position in monomers. ► νCHblue should be more pronounced for donors with the longer C-H bond. ► Blue shift should be bigger for CH donors with a smaller positive qH charge.
